La Habra Heights Owl Rescue

Today at 8:45am on July 31st, 2018, La Habra Heights Medic Engine 771 responded to a public assist call. On arrival, Firefighters discovered a small, wild, juvenile owl in distress that was entangled in a garden net. The owl was very weak and in obvious need of assistance.

Medic Engine 771 Firefighters quickly sprung in to action by demobilizing the owl and doing quick work with cutting all of the netting around the wings, talons, and the head of "Ozzie" the Owl.

 
After being released from hanging in the garden net, Ozzie, laid still recovering from his misfortune.
Care to the animal was then transferred to Animal Control.
